While we continue to distribute information and encourage residents to reach out with any questions, this will be used to communicate any latest news and updates. Upcoming meetings, community events, building projects, etc. may be listed here to be brought to your attention.

Your board and community will post updates. If there’s any community wide announcements that you’d like to see or make, please let us know via the Contact form. If you have feedback, things you’d like to see, improvements, etc., please don’t hesitate to reach out.  We want this to grow along with the needs of our residents and community board positions.

Thanks to all that attended our first HOA meeting of 2026 and braved the remains of the ice storm. As I write this update, we are now in the middle of the Snowstorm with several inches already on the ground! Looks like it will be an interesting winter in Berkeley this year!

For those that were unable to attend the meeting. It was a great opportunity meet new neighbors and reconnect with old ones. We launched with some fun facts about Berkeley and then moved into the review of the annual budget (which was approved at the end of the meeting and can be found on the HOA budget page). In addition, we covered topics of interest and concern of the neighborhood with volunteers jumping in to conduct some research and report out at the Q2 Meeting to the neighborhood (thanks to all that are conducting some research for us). Topics included:

• Researching bringing back a part-time off duty police officer (Cost, Time, Capability, etc)
• Contacting the City of Charlotte on speed bumps based on additional cut throughs occurring
• Researching the rules around e-Bikes and how we can maintain safe streets in the neighborhood
• Following up with the owner of the buffer between Lowe’s and the neighborhood to ensure it is being maintained as a true buffer
• Providing additional support on landscaping opportunities for the entrances

Lastly, we reminded neighbors to pay the annual dues of $155 either via Zelle to BerkeleyHOATreasurer@gmail.com or to drop a check to 10000 Berkeley Forest Lane in the drop box located on the small porch. As of this writing we are at 50% of our goal for participation.
